ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll oversee the full spectrum of HR and People Operations for Genalyte. Your focus will be to strategically manage day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, culture initiatives, performance management, compliance, and HRIS systems administration.

SALARY RANGE: $130,000 - $150,000
Offer decisions and base salary depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s skills, qualifications, business need and experience.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll oversee the full spectrum of HR and People Operations for Genalyte. Your focus will be to strategically manage day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, culture initiatives, performance management, compliance, and HRIS systems administration.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
These may include but are not limited to:
- Provide advice and counsel to management and employees on policy and procedure applications, employment/labor laws, and conflict resolution to promote a fair and equitable work environment.
- Work with senior management to define, communicate and encourage a positive company culture.
- Work with management to define and develop leadership qualities within the organization; encourage cross-training and personal/professional development.
- Develop and administer various human resources plans, processes and procedures for all company personnel.
- Develop and implement a fair and equitable compensation system; update compensation program to ensure market competitiveness and employee retention.
- Develop, monitor and maintain performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.
- Work with supervisory personnel to develop, review, revise and retain job descriptions.
- Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures; develop, revise, and maintain employee handbook.
- Oversee benefits administration, annual evaluation of insurance programs during plan renewal.
- Conduct and facilitate full-cycle recruiting/staffing processes to meet Company staffing needs; work with search firms and agencies as needed; work with managers to define recruiting strategy.
- Conduct on-boarding processes, including background checks and new hire on-boarding processes.
- Facilitate termination processes.
- Develop and/or facilitate training needs for employees and supervisory personnel.
- Participate in company safety program and safety committee; work closely with safety officer.
- Ensure compliance with workers compensation reporting and record retention.
- Maintain personnel records including employee files, organization chart, phone directory and turnover reporting ensuring confidentiality.
- Recommend and assist in the organization and set up of company employee events.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, quality systems, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology or related field.
- 7-10 years related human resources experience
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Previous experience in a start-up growing organization, preferably biotech, medical device or pharmaceutical developing and maintaining the HR infrastructure in a hands-on HR role.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organized; comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities.
- High emotional intelligence, able to navigate sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.
- A strategic thinker who’s also comfortable executing operational tasks.
